Kolkata: Hours after the Election Commission issued hearing notices to 11 members of his family, 62-year-old Namkhana resident Sheikh Abdul Aziz died of a heart attack.His family said he was anxious over the hearing after his three sons, daughters-in-law and grandchildrem were summoned.
According to relatives, Aziz was scared and had spent days searching for documents.
On Friday night, he discussed the matter with some acquaintances and broke down at a local market. He cried all the way home, his family said. Soon after reaching home, Aziz complained of illness. He was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead.The family alleged that Abdul was a long-time resident of the area and said the stress caused by the notice contributed to his death. Police sources said no complaint was filed in connection with the death.
