“Even after the Supreme Court’s directive, they are not accepting Aadhaar card. I heard that in Malda, notices are being sent to 90,000 people from a community. The domicile certificate, which is accepted everywhere, is being rejected in Bengal,” Banerjee said,“Names of Adivasis, Matuas and Rajbanshis have also been deleted. Names of both Bengalis and non-Bengalis have also been deleted,” she added.“So who will (finally) vote? The (Election) Commission, the home minister and BJP together? If that’s the case, there won’t be even 1% of voters left in Bengal. Anyway, there is an ongoing court case. However, I have always been with the people, I am with them and I will continue to be. The fight for people will continue. The struggle against injustice, oppression and dictatorship is ongoing and will persist,” the CM said. The Supreme Court is likely to hear Trinamool’s plea against SIR on Monday. The CM alleged that directives from ECI “are being changed every day”. “It’s happening through WhatsApp. Almost 200 notices came in the last 2 months. BLOs are working under tremendous pressure. Almost 100 people died,” she claimed.Banerjee also hinted that she will continue her fight even if she faced legal action after ED’s searches at I-PAC properties earlier this month, leading to confrontation between her and the central agency.“Some people are saying that I will be sent to jail for 10 years. I am not afraid to go to jail. I am ready to sacrifice my life for my people,” she said.
