Gurgaon: A woman confronted and slapped a youth, who allegedly made an obscene gesture while sitting in an e-rickshaw. The incident took place on Tuesday. According to a video, the woman, who is a social media influencer with around 12,000 followers on Instagram and often shares bike-riding content, was riding her motorcycle on a busy road in the city. She posted three videos. No official police complaint was filed so far in this connection. The woman said the youth made an inappropriate gesture towards her, after which she asked the e-rickshaw driver to stop and confronted him. In the first video uploaded by her, the woman is seen questioning the youth and warning him that the entire incident was recorded on the camera mounted on her bike. The video shows the youth denying the allegation initially. The woman then slaps him repeatedly and tells him he would not be allowed to leave. When the youth tries to flee, she pulls his bag to stop him. As the situation escalates, a crowd gathers at the spot. In a second video, bystanders are seen questioning the youth, while he continues to deny the act before eventually admitting that it happened “by mistake”. A third video shows the same youth sitting on a chair while another man beats him up, asking why he came there to misbehave. The youth is seen folding his hands and apologising, admitting his mistake and asking for forgiveness. The woman later shared an Instagram story saying the matter was over as the youth accepted his mistake and she appealed to people to teach families to correct wrongdoings . She wrote a message in the caption of one video, saying women should not rely only on the system and “must stand up” for themselves. The videos received massive traction and mixed reactions online,
