Pune: The four-day international construction exhibition, Constro 2026, concluded in Pune on Sunday, bringing together industry professionals, engineers, architects, and students to discuss the future of India’s construction sector.The event highlighted key themes such as safety, the use of modern technology, sustainability, and innovation in building practices.
The 20th edition of Constro was organised by the Pune Construction Engineering Research Foundation (PCERF) in association with the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) and the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC). More than 400 exhibitors took part in the event, displaying construction machinery, building materials, digital tools, and green technologies.The exhibition was inaugurated by Credai national vice-president Ranjeet Naiknavare, Council of Architecture president Abhay Purohit, and senior PCERF office-bearers. Union road transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari, in a video message, stressed the need for quality construction, modern technology, and environmentally responsible practices.A major attraction was the four-day auditorium programme featuring technical sessions, panel discussions, and award ceremonies. The PCERF BG Shirke Vidyarthi Awards 2025 honoured civil engineering students for academic excellence and innovation.Safety remained a key focus through the Safety Summit and the PCERF Kumar Beharay Safety Awards, which highlighted workplace safety and fire safety in high-rise buildings. Organisers said the exhibition reflected the industry’s growing shift towards safer, technology-driven, and future-ready construction practices.
