Bengaluru: Following the question paper leak of the SSLC preparatory exam, the department of pre-university education tightened the norms for printing and distribution of question papers for the next preparatory exams:The sealed question papers should be kept in a secure room at the nodal centre, which must be equipped with a CCTV cameraOn the day of the examination, at 8.30am, the principal/senior lecturer of the concerned college should verify and collect the question papers of their college from the nodal centre No college should collect the question papers of all the subjects in advance on the first day of the examIt is mandatory to download the question papers on a single computer under the same IP address. If it is found that the question papers are downloaded from more than one IP address, legal action will be taken against the concerned deputy director The department directed its deputy directors of pre-university to identify printing presses where question papers can be printed. No private printing activities can be carried out once the printing work of the question paper commences. Private individuals will not be allowed to enter the printing press. After the printing work is completed, the soft copy must be erased without leaving any traces, and the additionally printed question papers must be destroyed.Deputy directors shall identify only govt pre-university colleges as nodal centres in their districtUse of mobile phones by students in pre-university colleges is not permittedStrict action will be takenIf the question papers are leaked from the nodal centre, legal action will be taken against the principal of the nodal centre Similarly, action will be taken against students if they disseminate question papers on WhatsApp, YouTube, Instagram, or any other mediaIf aided colleges fail to maintain confidentiality, a recommendation will be made to the govt to withdraw the college’s grant as per the rulesIn case of an unaided college, the college’s accreditation will be permanently cancelled as per the rulesIf the college is the examination centre, which is responsible for the leak, a recommendation will be made to the Karnataka Examination and Evaluation Board, Bengaluru, to cancel the said examination centre
