Varanasi: Green energy will flow in seven villages adopted by Varanasi MP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Houses built under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana, and CSR funds in these villages will get free solar energy, thanks to the government’s PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme.This initiative is a big step towards making rural areas energy-independent. The plan is to install solar panels in 500 houses in the first phase under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana, and then expand to 1,000 houses in the second phase. Chief development officer Prakhar Kumar Singh said that under the PM Surya Ghar Yojana in Pradhan Mantri Sansad Adarsh Gram, there is a plan to install free solar panels. This includes the villages of Jayapur, Nagepur and Parampur of the Araji Line development block. Bariyarpur and Pure villages in Sevapuri development block, along with Kakrahiya and Kurhua villages in Kashi Vidyapeeth block, are part of the initiative. Over 500 houses will get 2 kW solar power plants installed in the first phase, targeting homes built under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana, and CSR funds.UPNEDA senior project officer Shashi Gupta said that in the second phase of this scheme, free solar panels are proposed to be installed in houses built in villages adjacent to Pradhan Mantri Sansad Adarsh villages. In this scheme, apart from CSR fund, grants will be given by the central and state govts. In this scheme, payment to the vendor will be made from grants given by the central and state govts and CSR fund.
