Govt allocates 26.6L more for roads, pavements in New Town

Kolkata: The govt has sanctioned more funds under the ‘Amader Para Amader Samadhan’ scheme for road repairs and footpath construction in New Town. Following the earlier sanctioned amount of Rs 55 lakh to the NKDA, the govt has further sanctioned over Rs 26.6 lakh to NKDA for repairing a number of road stretches.In the second phase of sanctioning, about Rs 8 lakh has been sanctioned for road repair work at Street No 47 and 67 within Action Area I. Around Rs 9 lakh has been sanctioned for road repair work near RR Abasan Tarulia Jheelpa, and Rs 9.5 lakh for road repair work at Street No 74, 87, 89, 91 and 93 within Action Area I. Work to repair and construct footpaths is presently going on at New Town BC and BF blocks.
