Courier man accused of stealing 400 parcels worth 3L

Surat: A garment seller lodged a theft complaint at Kapodra police station, accusing a courier employee of stealing 400 parcels worth Rs 3 lakh.According to the complaint, Jayesh Savani and his partners run ‘She Wears Studio’ in Kapodra, selling ladies’ apparel on a leading online platform. During Diwali, the firm sold hundreds of items, and many returned due to size or other issues. These parcels were stored in the company’s godown.When staff conducted an inventory check, they discovered that about 400 parcels were missing. CCTV footage showed courier employee Ashique Ghanchi visiting the godown regularly after Diwali and allegedly removing parcels before leaving. When confronted by the management, Ghanchi reportedly fled.Savani said he tried to contact Ghanchi over the past few months to recover the parcels, but the accused remains untraceable.
