Lucknow: Displaying compassion, Gosaiganj police arranged treatment for an 80-year-old woman who approached the police station seeking help after being unable to afford care for her fractured hip.According to police, Kaushalya, wife of Ram Gulam and a resident of Gosainganj, visited the police station on Tuesday and submitted a complaint against her son and daughter-in-law. She alleged that her son, Maha, had kept her jewellery, leaving her without the means to pay for medical treatment.
The elderly woman told police that she has two sons, but her second son, Rajesh, earns very little and is financially incapable of supporting her treatment. Kaushalya has been suffering from a hip fracture since April 2025, which remained untreated for months due to financial constraints and lack of family support. “Considering her condition and adopting a humanitarian approach, the police arranged a private ambulance and sent her to Vidya Hospital in Mohanlalganj for proper medical care. The priority was to ensure timely treatment given her age and prolonged suffering,” said ADCP (South) Vasanth Rallapalli. TNN
