91k cr approved by AMC over 10 years, issues remain unresolved: Cong

Responding to AMC’s approved budget for 2026-27, Opposition leader Shehzad Khan Pathan stated, “Despite a budget of Rs 91,412 crore being approved over the last 10 years for AMC, problems like contaminated water, overflowing sewers, and broken roads persist. The Rs 18,518 crore budget for 2026-27 is election-oriented and full of false promises. If the Rs 91,412 crore was spent properly over the past 10 years, Ahmedabad could have become like Singapore.”He added, “The approved budget and its various proposals are misleading. BJP leaders in AMC did not even complete the works approved this year. This is the reality, which proves their administrative incompetence. In various wards of the city, heaps of rubbish and filth can be seen. Complaints about polluted water are increasing by the day. The renovation of VS Hospital was not completed, pink toilets for women were not constructed, snorkels that can reach 100m were not installed, the SVP Hospital was privatized, Sabarmati river became the second most polluted in the country. Most of the promises made to the citizens were not fulfilled.” tnn
