Gurgaon: Around 900kg of illegal explosive material used for making firecrackers was seized in the Nuh district on Friday. A case was registered against three brothers, who managed to flee during the raid at a tin shed in Bisru village, under the Explosives Act against.


Officials said the action was taken by Bichhor police station following a tip-off during routine patrol and crime control duty near the Punhana-Fardari Road bus stand in Bisru. “Isa, Israel and Julli The brothers — sons of Dinu and residents of Bisru — were manufacturing gunpowder and firecrackers without any licence and had stored raw material in the shed inside the BPL colony,” an officer said.

Police reached the spot and recovered 18 plastic sacks filled with the explosive material. Each sack weighed approximately 50kg. Police said storing such a large quantity of explosive substances in a residential area, especially in the densely populated colony, could have led to a major incident if an accident or fire occurred.”The area was secured after the seizure,” the officer.
