LUCKNOW: At least even people were killed and 21 others injured after a sleeper bus flipped on the Purvanchal Expressway in Lucknow on Monday. The accident occurred near Hasanapur in the Gosainganj area when the bus, travelling from Ludhiana to Darbhanga, lost control. Around 40 passengers were reportedly on board at the time of the incident.Police and rescue teams rushed to the spot soon after receiving information and launched a rescue operation. Several passengers were feared trapped inside the overturned vehicle, prompting authorities to use cranes to lift the bus.Eyewitnesses described chaotic scenes at the accident site, with locals joining rescue efforts before emergency services arrived. Preliminary reports suggest the driver may have dozed off, leading to the crash.The injured were seen lying along the roadside and were immediately rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment. Officials said the condition of some passengers remains critical.The accident site witnessed heavy crowding as locals gathered, while authorities worked to clear the wreckage and restore traffic movement.Further details are awaited as rescue and relief operations continue.
