5 pythons spotted in Unnao village, forest team rescues three

Kanpur: Panic prevailed after five pythons were spotted near Pakharapur village in Fatehpur Chaurasi police station area of Unnao on Tuesday. A forest department team reached the spot and safely captured 3 pythons in a 3-hour long rescue operation, and released them in a forest away from the village.On Tuesday, villagers saw five pythons crawling along Pakharapur road and in nearby fields. As the news spread, a large number of villagers gathered at the spot. The incident was immediately reported to UP-112 and the forest department. The forest department team reached the spot and managed to capture three out of five pythons.Van rakshak Waseem said, “The captured pythons were carefully placed in sacks and taken to a safe forest area away from the village and released.” Two female pythons were approximately 18 feet long, while another was around 10 feet long, said Van Daroga Pappu Yadav. The forest department team searched the area for remaining pythons. The surrounding area, being surrounded by bushes, provided a suitable habitat for pythons, and they may have come towards the population in search of food, said the officials.The forest department appealed to villagers to remain alert, not go alone towards fields and bushes, and immediately report any suspicious activity to the department. The situation was monitored, and efforts to capture the remaining pythons continued.
