5 days after protest by Moose Wala parents, FIR against entertainment company, 2 others

Bathinda: Five days after slain rapper Sidhu Moose Wala’s parents sat down on a protest at Mansa SSP’s office to demand action against those not clearing payments of earnings made in the name of their son, Mansa police on Monday registered a case against the firm One Digital Entertainment Pvt Ltd, and Shabir Momin and Gurpreet Singh, who are associated with the company.The Moose Wala family had alleged that people associated with the entertainment company owed them over Rs 30 crore.

Acting on the complaint by Moose Wala’s mother, Charan Kaur, the case was registered at Mansa Sadar police station under sections 316(2) (criminal breach of trust), 336(2) (forgery), 336(3) (forgery intending that electronic record forged), 338 (forgery of valuable securities), 340(2) (false document), 344 (falsification of accounts), 318(4) (cheating) and 61(2) BNS (criminal conspiracy). The parents also named Bunty Bains, but he clarified his position and was not among those booked. He stated that the financial issue was between Shabir Momin and the Moose Wala family, as he had nothing to do with the accounts. Sidhu Moose Wala’s father, Balkaur Singh, and mother Charan Kaur alleged that they gave a complaint over six months ago, but nothing was done. They sat in protest at the Mansa SSP Office on Feb 11. Bathinda Range DIG, who was on a visit to Mansa, held a meeting with them and assured them the FIR would be filed after going through the records provided by the family. Balkaur said the company did not provide any statement of accounts, even as it was making huge profits in the name of his son.
