5 Bangladeshi nationals held in Mumbai's Oshiwara area

MUMBAI: Five Bangladeshi nationals, four of them women, were arrested by the Oshiwara Police for living in India illegally. A seven-year-old Bangladeshi girl was also found with the group. The girl’s details have been shared with the Special Branch of Mumbai Police and the Foreign Nationals Registration Officer.

Police acted on specific information and arrested the group on 10 February. During questioning, documents and identity cards confirming their nationality were found. Examination of their mobile phones revealed frequent calls and contacts with other Bangladeshi nationals.The operation was led by Senior Inspector Sanjay Chavan and DCP Dikshitkumar Gedam.
