31 packets of charas worth Rs 14 crore found inside unclaimed bag on express train in Mumbai

Mumbai: A major narcotics haul of charas worth around Rs 14 crore was detected at Mumbai’s Bandra Terminus after an unclaimed bag was found aboard the Awadh Express early Sunday morning, officials said. The train arrived at the platform at 4.20 am, and a heavy black bag was found by officials in one of the coaches. During the search, the officials found clothes and multiple brown tape-wrapped packets, raising suspicion of contraband.In the presence of CCTV coverage, officials seized 31 brown tape-wrapped packets containing the black shiny material, along with two shirts and a pair of jeans. The suspected charas weighed 14 kg.
