3-month partial weekend shutdown for Setu

Kolkata: The 16-hour Vidyasagar Setu shutdown was executed on Sunday, with traffic resuming on both ends at 9 pm. “Key cable replacement was carried out as planned,” said a cop.However, expect Vidyasagar Setu to be partially shut on multiple weekends throughout the next three months, as the Hooghly River Bridge Commission resumes the repair job on the bridge after the festival break. Police said, these closures will last between 5 hours and 16 hours, during which, most importantly, cable replacement work will be carried out.
