Calangute: Police booked three Saligao residents for allegedly assaulting a Guirim resident and his friends at Parra on Wednesday. An offence has also been registered against three unidentified people in connection with the assault and vandalism incident.Abdul Munaf Makandar, 21, a resident of Guirim, lodged a complaint that on Jan 21, at around 2.30pm near Maddani, Parra, Raunak Korgaonkar, Dattaram Harmalkar and Kenrick Rodrigues, all residents of Saligao, along with three unidentified people, allegedly abused him and his friends Sohil Gaus Khan Inamdar and Mithun Sanju Rathod over a personal dispute.Police said the accused used abusive language and assaulted Makandar and his friends with slaps, fist blows and a metal baton, injuring them.The accused are further alleged to have damaged Makandar’s vehicle, causing him a loss of approximately Rs 1 lakh, besides damaging a mobile phone and wristwatch belonging to Inamdar, causing him a loss of about Rs 20,000, and a mobile handset of Rathod worth about Rs 10,000.
