3 booked for 25L visa fraud

Ludhiana: The Ludhiana rural police have booked three persons, including a father-son duo, for allegedly duping a youth of Rs 25.85 lakh on the pretext of sending him to Australia and later “threatening” him when he demanded his money back. The accused have been identified as Navpreet Singh and his father Rajvinder Singh, of Jagraon, and Megha Sood of Moga. Ajaypal of Agwar Gujran told cops that he wanted to go to Australia and the accused assured him that they would facilitate his travel. He alleged that the duo took a total of Rs 25.85 lakh from him in instalments. However, even after a considerable period, neither was any visa was secured nor did the process of sending him abroad moved forward. tnn
