Rourkela: Three persons were arrested at Chandrapur playground in Sundargarh district on Wednesday for allegedly planning to carry out dacoity on Tuesday night. Three other members of the gang managed to escape.The accused were identified as Anil Soy, 44, a resident of Sundargarh district, Manoj Kandulana, 29, and Rajesh Majhi, 51, both Jharkhand natives.Bonai SDPO Ram Chandra Biswal said on Wednesday that acting on specific intelligence inputs, Tikayatpali police conducted a surprise raid on Tuesday evening at Chandrapur football field where the accused had gathered with weapons to carry out dacoity in nearby shops, houses and passers-by. During the operation, police apprehended three accused. Police seized the weapons, mobile phones, cash from the accused. The accused were reportedly involved in several dacoity cases in houses.
