Jaipur: The Comprehensive Mobility Plan (CMP) for Jaipur, prepared by the Urban Development and Housing Department (UDH) and RITES, proposes major road upgrades to support a population of over 1 crore by 2055.The plan envisages flyovers and elevated roads at 14 locations across the city, railway overbridges or underpasses at nine locations, and widening 86 km of roads at 25 main thoroughfares.

The major recommendations include an elevated road on JLN Marg from JDA Circle to Moti Doongri Circle, an underpass below Gopalpura Puliya of 700 metres width, and an elevated road 4.4 km long on Jhalana Bypass from Jhalana Doongri till Jagatpura RoB. Jaipur Development Authority will soon start construction of one of the major recommendations – a 1.2-km-long elevated road from Chauradiya Petrol Pump to Sanaganer Circle.“NHAI will also have their role to play. According to the recommendations, NHAI will construct a Delhi-bound flyover on Ajmer Expressway right at the 200-Feet Bypass crossing,” an official said.There are proposals to widen the road connecting Jaipur Junction and the Collectorate, and interior roads adjacent to the Heerapura bus terminal, airport terminal one, the proposed Pinjrapole Metro Station, and the Gandhi Nagar railway station. In addition, there is a proposal to make Govind Marg, connecting Trimurti Circle and the Gurudwara Junction at Transport Nagar, into a four-lane corridor.“Of the proposed nine RoBs and RuBs, the major ones would be constructed at Kartarpura, Mahesh Nagar, Jagatpura, Hathoj and Gokulpura,” another official added.
