Noida: A dispute over parking escalated into a clash outside an engagement party venue in Jewar on Monday. The incident occurred in Salliyan colony, where guests had parked vehicles on a narrow street. Two men have been arrested so far.Police said a resident of Kunwarpal locality hosted his son’s engagement party at his house. The guests attending the event had parked their cars on both sides of the narrow road. Kunwarpal’s neighbours Nitin alias Dhairya and Shivkumar alias Shiva objected to the cars being parked on the street and asked for them to be removed to clear the route. However, the vehicles were not moved, leading to an argument.Police said the verbal dispute soon turned ugly, with Nitin and Shivkumar allegedly resorting to abusive language. When Kunwarpal’s family objected to their behaviour the two men and some others damaged the vehicles that were parked at the spot.Following a complaint from the people whose cars were damaged, an FIR under sections 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 352 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace), 351(1) (criminal intimidation) and 324(4) (mischief) of BNS was registered at Jewar police station.A senior police officer said that necessary legal actions are being taken against the arrested men. Police said they were examining whether any other individuals were involved in the incident, and further action would be taken if required.Meanwhile, normalcy was restored in the area, and no further untoward incident occurred. Some allegations were made about the discrepancies in the details of the incident, but officers said they turned out to be false.
