Ahmedabad: Late on Monday night, two cows died after falling into a pit near Shaktinagar in Saijpur Piplaj, located in the Lambha ward of Ahmedabad’s South Zone. The pit was dug by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation to repair a damaged drainage line. Five cows fell into it, and two died. AMC officials said the cows pushed through the barricades were placed around the pit, and fell inside.Rescue efforts on Tuesday morning led to three being saved, while two died. Videos of the incident went viral on social media amid speculations that the cows were running in a panicked state when they fell into the pit. tnn
