Pune: Two workers of a firm in Bhosari firm were arrested on the charge of assaulting their colleague (22) in the early hours of Sunday and then attempting to stab his friend in front of a private hospital where their injured peer was admitted.The Pimpri Chinchwad police arrested the duo under sections 109 (murder attempt) and 118 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). An officer from the Bhosari police said the duo suspected the victim of complaining about their work to the supervisor and nursed a grudge over this. Late on Jan 31, when the victim and his colleague were returning home after their second shift, the two accused and their accomplice stopped them outside the company. They abused the victim and pushed him. The victim fell and suffered head injuries.
“The victim’s colleague took him to a private hospital in Bhosari. On the way, the victim contacted his friend and told him about the attack. The victim’s friend then rushed towards the hospital,” the officer said.He said the accused followed the victim, reached the hospital and waited outside on the road. “Seeing the duo, the victim’s friend reprimanded them for attacking the former. The duo picked up an argument with him and stabbed him with a knife in the stomach,” he said.The officer said the injured duo were first taken to the Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital (YCMH) in Pimpri, where the complainant was discharged after preliminary treatment. His friend was later admitted to Sassoon General Hospital in Pune. “Our investigations are on,” the officer said.
