Hyderabad: Police solved a theft case involving 2.4 lakh stolen from a garments store on Road No 12 in Banjara Hills, and arrested a housekeeping worker. The store run by Kunduru Bhavani Anushri, is daughter-in-law of Congress leader K Jana Reddy.According to the complaint, store manager Anil counted the day’s sales and kept the cash in a locker on the night of Feb 6, planning to deposit it in the bank the morning. When staff opened the outlet at 11.30 am on Feb 7, the money was missing.Suspicion fell on housekeeping employee Aminul Hoque, who failed to report for duty and switched off his phone. Based on the complaint, police registered a case of theft under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.Inspector S Suhasan said Aminul, a native of Assam, was traced and arrested. Police recovered the amount, except about 5,000 already spent. He was later released on station bail. tnn
