Kanpur: On Monday, the cyber and police team recovered 101 mobile phones after acting on complaints of lost and stolen handsets registered through the CR portal and the UP Cop app. The recovered phones were handed over to their rightful owners at the Deputy Commissioner of Police Eastern office. The estimated market value of the recovered mobiles was approximately Rs 25 lakh. Feedback was taken from citizens after they received their mobiles. In theft cases, mobiles were usually sold from one person to another, said police. DCP East Satyjeet Gupta said, “The investigation process was ongoing in theft-related cases and legal action would be taken against those found involved in the investigation.” tnn
